“Music is Power” (Richard Ashcroft, The Verve) - that's my go-to phrase to emphasize my passion for music.
My zeal for music began at an early age, listening to such records as Guns n’ Roses - “Use Your Illusion” and Bryan Adams - “Waking up the Neighbours”. I carried that love for music with me into high school where I began to play guitar.
Originally, “The Ryde” consisted of my older brother Courtney and good friend Dustin Palko. After Courtney parted from the band, I was asked to fill his shoes as the lead singer, which was a challenging task at first because I would have to learn to play and sing at the same time.
It is now, after 5 years of hard work, that I can confidently and comfortably say that I fit this lead role and will continue to push and pursue my goal as a musician.
I continue to develop my writing, singing and playing skills from my influences such as Incubus, The Verve, Oasis and U2.
